Fungicolous, form cottony layer on the stromata of Ophiocordyceps sinensis. Asexual morph: Mycelium 2–3 μm wide, septate, branched, smooth-walled. Conidiophores hyaline, erect, occasionally verticillate 18–70 × 2–3.5 μm ( = 55 × 3 μm, n = 20), with 1–2 verticils. Phialides hyaline, acropleurogenous, monophialidic, opposite or alternate, lanceolate, 18–70 × 2–3.5 μm ( = 55 × 3 μm, n = 20), gradually tapering near the apex, basipetally yielding the catenulate conidia. Conidia unicellular, hyaline, ovoid, or fusiform, base acuminate, aseptate, thin-walled, smooth-walled, 3.5–5 × 1.5–2 μm ( = 4.2 × 1.8 μm, n = 30). Sexual morph: Undetermined. (Description from Sun et al. 2019)
